For the stay-at-home mom, Christian Life Assembly has created a unique group solely for relationships, discussion and advice—just when a time-out is needed the most.
Founded by Gina Cox and Emily Lockman—the leaders of the group and members of Christian Life Assembly, Time-OUT! meet regularly to give moms a break and focuses on topics such as loving your husband, organizing, relaxing, love languages and much more. Seasonal activities such as an Easter Egg hunt, family picnics, summer pool parties and a Christmas social help to bring families together in fun and fellowship. It’s very possible says Cox, “that you will laugh and cry in the same meeting.”
In May of 2006, Time-OUT! hosted an 80s party, complete with big hair and Atari games. Husbands became party guests as they joined the festivities. A retreat kicked off spring at a local hotel, where moms met for an extended time-out. They also toured the HGTV dream home!
Woman Connecting Women, another ministry at Christian Life Assembly, meets on the first Thursday of every month to “plug in” with other women in prayer, fun, fellowship, devotionals and special speakers.
Our changing culture requires program changes in the church. Women interested in the ministries at Christian Life Assembly can find a unique group called The Unintended Journey, geared toward women coping with their husband’s addictions to sex and pornography. Led by a volunteer group of women who have previously experienced similar situations, women “discover how they’re not blame, how to rebuild trust and what they can do regardless if he gets help.”
Dr. Stephen Chitty pastors Christian Life Assembly.
