Ever since I was a child, I knew God had a ministry for me. In junior high I became involved in music ministry and public speaking. When the music pastor in my church moved, I was asked to fill that position. Though I served joyfully in that capacity for more than a decade, I knew God had something else for me, and I had an insatiable desire to discover that next season of ministry.
While searching for inspiration and encouragement on several Christian Web sites, something about the Assemblies of God Women’s Ministries site grabbed my attention. Unlimited? What was that all about? I was aware the Web site had changed, but had never noticed this before. My interest piqued, I continued reading everything on the site.
My life was changed when I clicked the “Who We Are” link. It was there I read about women who had taken their God-given passions and natural talents, and turned them into ministry. It was simple, yet profound.
For months I had been contemplating starting an organizing business. I had all kinds of ideas and plenty of support. The one thing holding me back was that I knew I was supposed to be in ministry. Imagine my excitement and how the wheels started turning when I reached the bottom of the page and read the long list of suggestions on how women could minister in their sphere of influence. The possibilities really are “Unlimited”!
At that very moment, God revealed to me that I could combine my great love of organizing with the passion He had given me for ministry, and “A Place for Space” was born. My message to my clients is simple: unclutter your life the same way you unclutter your closet—and then I show them how to do both. God took years’ worth of various experiences, blended them together, and created a ministry that incorporates everything I love to do.
From the bottom of my heart I want to thank the people who came up with the fresh “Unlimited!” idea, and the Web site that God used to reveal a new “unlimited” ministry that was waiting around the corner for me.
