Can My Marriage Be Saved: True Stories of Saved Marriages

Can My Marriage Be Saved: True Stories of Saved MarriagesThis book is a powerhouse of hope and encouragement for anyone who’s ever wondered if their marriage is beyond the brink of restoration. Mother and daughter authors Mae and Erika Chambers collaborated to bring together stories of couples whose marriages have survived some of the most torrential storms of life. These brave couples candidly share their stories, going beyond simply sharing deep personal things that happened in their marriages; some also give glimpses into horrific childhood abuses that may have precipitated their behaviors.

But these couples don’t blame their parents or their upbringings for their marital issues; they merely explain how good counselors helped them understand why they tended toward destructive behaviors. Once they understood why they acted as they did, they were able to take appropriate steps toward healing by replacing negative behavior patterns with biblical principles for living.

Some of the issues addressed are: the death of a child, sexual addiction, alcohol and drug addiction, pornography and adultery (committed by both men and women). Many of the couples featured are now involved in full-time marriage restoration ministries. A helpful “marriage resources” list in the index is divided topically, to direct the reader to the ministry that would be the most beneficial.
