Jeris Waldron has been a widow for nine years, after she and her demeaning husband had three short, albeit tumultuous, years together. She overcame her insecurities by throwing herself into pursuing a degree in child psychology. Her new role is director of children’s ministries at her church.

Luke Moore is a widower with a young son, Brady—one of the children benefiting from Jeris’s ministry. Brady’s heart is quickly won over by his new teacher. He prays—and asks his entire church congregation to pray—that God will give him a new mommy. Can you see where this is leading?

Though Luke and Jeris at first glance seem to have little in common other than the church they attend—and don’t even like each other initially—both determine to seek God for their next choice of a mate. That’s when each begins to see the other in a new light, and things move quickly from that point.
